Day 363 (23.6.26), Gravelines, France to Folkstone, England

Today we went to Calais and Dunkirk. My dad told me about the Second World War where the war almost spread to Great Britain but didn’t even though there is not much Sea between France and England in this area.

In Calais we went to see a fort and went on a ride in a robot veran. It was driving on the streets and next to the harbour. It could move it’s head and tail and it could spray water all over the place. The driver sprayed water on people we passed by.

It was very cool.

After we drove to Dunkirk where you could still see some shipwrecks from the big ships that was left behind when more than 338,000 British soldiers and allies were evacuated from the beach during the Second World War between the 26th of May and 4th of June 1940, called operation Dynamo.

In the evening we drove our car and caravan to the Le Shuttle which is a big train that you drive your car into and then the train drives in a tunnel to Dover, England.

It was very cool that our car and caravan could fit in the train. It was fun.
