Day 392 (22.07.26), Creeslough, Ireland + trip to Malin Head via Inishowen 100
Today we did the Inishowen 100 drive (the Inishowen Peninsula Loop) in Donegal. We visited Grianan of Aileach which is a traditional stone fort, with passages and steps so you could walk up to the highest point and when we stood on the top there was a great view of Greenan Mountain and Magheramore.
Then we drov to Fort Dunree an old military fort, a former coastal defence fortification dating back to the early 19th century.
We drove in between Urris Hills in Mamore Gap and got a great view of the Sea and then we stopped at Glenevin Waterfall. Walking to the waterfall they had small painted houses that we looked at and one of them we could actualy go into and close the door. My sister loved the small houses.
We didn’t stay long at the waterfall because there were many horse flies trying to bite us.
We drove to Five Finger Strand and had a break here, playing in the sand and my mum and da enjoying the view. My sister made her footprints in the sand and I slided down a sand dune on my butt and was full of sand everwhere after.
We ended in Malin Head, the most notherly point in Ireland with rugged landscape and wild conditions. It was though only a little windy the day we visited and Hell’s hole was calm.
