Day 388 (18.07.26), Westport, Ireland + trip to Achill island

Today we went to the adventure park next to the campsite.

I did some wall climbing and there was also a net starting with a thin pole with handholds. When you were at the top it looked higher up than when you were on the ground.

In the video it looked slow when I stepped off The Leap of Faith, but it was a lot scarier when you were up there and stepped over the edge.

After that me and my dad went on the Giant swing. First we did it at the maximum heigh of a big plagyground swing and then we went all the way to the top. You had to pull a cord to start and we agreed that my dad would pull the cord, but instead I did it and my dad was frightened because he didn’t know that I would do it. It was a little scary but a lot of fun.

While I was doing the big kids stuff, my sister was playing on a playground, in a large sandpit, jumping on small trampolines and in a big net.

In the afternoon we went to do a hike on Achill Island to the Cliffs of Croaghoun and passed a big Viaduct and a Kite festival on the way. There were all different kind of kites. They were really big. Some of them were attached to cars to stay so they wouldn’t lift you of the ground.

We went up a very steep hill on the hike, but when we got to the top it of the cliffs edge, it went all foggy and it was really windy and cold. On the way down the grass was very soft and there were lots of wet spots and a little bit of mud. I was very glad when we came back to the car and I could rest my feet.
